Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find out more about Jesus?
In some ways finding out more about Jesus is real easy. You can do it anytime anywhere just by picking up a Bible and reading through one of the biographies of Jesus - Matthew, Mark, Luke or John.
But we also want to help you think through the answers to your questions. Here are four ways we can do that:
- Sunday night church
- Growth Groups that meet during the week to study the Bible, pray, and share life together
- 645 Connect group that spends 5 weeks reading through Luke's biography of Jesus
- Meeting up to talk with someone from 645 at one of the local cafes
What time is church on a Sunday?
645 Church starts at 6:45pm every Sunday night [except for January when church starts at 6pm].
What should I expect when I visit?
First up, expect a wide range of people: some are at uni, some are at work, some are single, some are married, some are parents, some are grandparents. We're all different.
Next, expect to find us spending lots of time thinking about God and his Son, Jesus Christ. We do this in all sorts of different ways - singing, praying, reading the Bible, teaching, and normal conversations. We don't do this just to cram more stuff in our heads, but so we can help each other live for Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
Finally, expect that it's OK if you haven't been to church much before. We'll try to make it clear what's going on, and you won't be asked to say or do anything you don't want to.
What is a Christian?
A Christian is simply anyone who recognizes themselves as a sinner before God and deserving of his judgment, and who therefore puts their trust in Jesus for forgiveness and salvation (Acts 16:25-34, Romans 3:22-24).
A Christian trusts that Jesus' death pays the penalty of death that they deserve, so that they can now come before God confidently, knowing him as a loving Father, and certain of his welcome (John 3:16).

What does 645 believe about …?
645 is part of Christ Church St Ives, which means we are an Anglican church. That means our theological convictions are found in the 39 Articles of Religion. A more recent (and brief!) summary of what we believe can be found here.
